Adidas Tubular X Hemp Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

I’m a big fan of the Tubular and when I saw the Adidas Tubular X Hemp I had to cop!

I actually sold off my pair of core black Tubular X due to sizing and some issues with how they looked on the toebox. The Tubular X is clearly trying to capitalize off the popularity of both the Tubular and the Yeezy Boost 750 although the shoe is technically inspired by the Adidas Forum Hi.

One of the strong points on this colorway is that the materials create a better looking toebox, vs the core black colorway where the rand gives the front of the shoe an odd shape. Here we have a suede rand with ballistic mesh on the tongue and toebox and 3M on the X-cage on the sides. I haven’t seen too many tan kicks with 3M, so these are definitely a unique and attention-getting combination of materials. The build construction is solid and the materials are of excellent quality on these!

The Adidas Tubular X Hemp fits huge. I went down half size this time and I probably could even have gone down a full size but didn’t want to risk it. Also they are heavy – I would look at these as more of a sneaker boot than a performance sneaker. These are definitely for standing around chilling rather than doing anything athletic. That said, the comfort on these is still great, the added weight really makes me feel like a solid boot is protecting my feet while still looking stylish.
