Adidas Tubular Runner Primeknit Core Black Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

Primeknit makes everything lighter! These Adidas Tubular Runner Primeknit help lighten the load of the Tubular in a similar way to the Tubular Weave.

Materials on the Adidas Tubular Runner Primeknit

The upper of the sneaker is constructed using Primeknit with a distinct pattern not unlike snake scales. This version also adds a strap to the eyelet cage.

I’m really feeling this colorway and the overall look of the shoe and I’m a big fan of Primeknit, so to see them combined here to me is like Adidas showing full mastery of the Tubular model.

The material upgrade definitely makes the shoe super light and the uppers feel cooler and more breathable than the regular neoprene-based Tubular. Even though the material is lighter in weight, the construction on these is just as solid and is of very high quality. Definitely worth the money to grab a pair of these!

How’s The Fit?

The Tubular Runner Primeknit fit true to size and are extremely light and comfortable.

The only thing Adidas could possibly work on with these would be the actual insole/midsole. The Tubular sole is not very cushy by nature, so you get more of a solid support feel than a pillowy feel. Thus, these are a tad more like an Air Max in terms of support, rather than a lunar or boost shoe.
