The last retro colorway of this shoe I picked up were the Scream Greens. I grabbed these Nike Air Huarache Escape off Nike right at release date. The shoe is a retro of a popular colorway from 2003.

So, what’s the deal with the sneaker collection (Seinfeld Voice)? Right around 2008, I’d just lost a lot of weight and was in need of an entirely new wardrobe. I was in the process of buying newer, smaller clothes and the time came for a new pair of shoes. Rather than pick some ordinary pair like I normally would, I opted for a more interesting and unique looking pair. The response from others was so strong and positive that I decided to look more into the different kinds of cool sneakers and discovered that collecting sneakers is similar to collecting comics, baseball cards, or any other of the numerous hobbies I had when I was a kid! I’ve been into sneakers ever since – to the extent that I even got an article written about me in the paper! I’ve also been collector of the month in Solecollector Magazine (issue #47)!
I built up a lot of my collection looking for deals on slept-on pairs! I also post deals I find on this very site when I have time.
As for the photography aspect, check out any Sneaker related websites (there are many), and you will typically find posts filled with awesome, artsy footwear shots. I like learning about cameras and taking interesting shots, and it turns out there are actually sites online where you can get recognized for both your collection and photography skills at the same time! You can check out some of my most recent shots below. If you’re curious, I currently shoot with a Nikon D3100 (Amazon link) and mostly use a 50mm lens.
My eBay account is where I list my current sneakers available for sale (if I happen to be selling any).
Here are some quick links to different categories of sneakers:

I’ve just reviewed the Hyper Cobalt dunks, and while the colorway is spot on, the quality is basic at best. This time, we’re looking at these Nike Dunk Low Free 99, which does take things up slightly on the quality. Both pairs of sneakers are a shout out to bodegas that apparently supply candy, chips and soda for springtime celebrations. Some have speculated it refers to people stealing these items, essentially paying “free 99”. However Nike’s site implies these are free items given out by bodegas. There is a white based pair with more of a primary color type of look and a black based pair utilizing more pastels.

The creation of the recrafted Air Max 3 renewed my interest in the Air unit-based running shoes of the 90s. These Nike Air Structure are another model to be brought back by Nike. The model originated back in 1991 and features a wider and flatter outsole which provides increased comfort.

I was looking back, and I haven’t reviewed an OG retro of this model since the the “91 QS” in 2018. I made sure to pick up as many Nike Air Huarache retro colorways as I could find. This series of releases are mainly retros of original colorways from 1991-92.
