For the 25th anniversary of the Air Max 90, Nike went in with multiple releases displaying various takes on the “infrared” color scheme. They’ve given this pair the Air Max 90 OG moniker.

So, what’s the deal with the sneaker collection (Seinfeld Voice)? Right around 2008, I’d just lost a lot of weight and was in need of an entirely new wardrobe. I was in the process of buying newer, smaller clothes and the time came for a new pair of shoes. Rather than pick some ordinary pair like I normally would, I opted for a more interesting and unique looking pair. The response from others was so strong and positive that I decided to look more into the different kinds of cool sneakers and discovered that collecting sneakers is similar to collecting comics, baseball cards, or any other of the numerous hobbies I had when I was a kid! I’ve been into sneakers ever since – to the extent that I even got an article written about me in the paper! I’ve also been collector of the month in Solecollector Magazine (issue #47)!
I built up a lot of my collection looking for deals on slept-on pairs! I also post deals I find on this very site when I have time.
As for the photography aspect, check out any Sneaker related websites (there are many), and you will typically find posts filled with awesome, artsy footwear shots. I like learning about cameras and taking interesting shots, and it turns out there are actually sites online where you can get recognized for both your collection and photography skills at the same time! You can check out some of my most recent shots below. If you’re curious, I currently shoot with a Nikon D3100 (Amazon link) and mostly use a 50mm lens.
My eBay account is where I list my current sneakers available for sale (if I happen to be selling any).
Here are some quick links to different categories of sneakers:
Air Jordan XI Columbia (2001)

These Air Jordan XI Columbia sold out when they dropped in 2001. Air Jordan XI’s are always highly anticipated, and this release just happens to be the last XI’s with “Nike Air” on the insole! Thes sport some obvious patent leather on the toebox and above the midsole, with the rest of the uppers being leather except for the mesh tongue. These come in a Jordan “face box” with white rope laces and a retro card.
Vans AV Classic “S” (Jason Dill)

Today I’m rocking these Vans AV Classic “S” in a spider web colorway. These are a Vans Syndicate collab with Alien Workshop rider Jason Dill. They feature a canvas upper with the spider web print all over it and come with black and white flat laces. Some other features include a special “AVE & DILL” mention on the insole, a drawer pull-out style shoebox with the spider web print on the interior, a pouch for the spare laces, a Vans Syndicate keychain and some stickers. Not bad for $65 retail!
Vans OG Era LX Stillwater x Taka Hayashi – “Sea Life”

Today I’m sporting these Vans OG Era in a Stillwater colorway. Part of the “Sea Life” pack designed by frequent Vans collaborator Taka Hayashi, these feature a print on the toebox area of the shoe reflecting the Sea Life theme. The shoes are made out of canvas uppers with a leather liner. The rope laces complete the look. Included accessories in this Vans Vault release are some white flat laces and a dustbag with the sea life print on them.
Vans Half Cab Snake

These Vans Half Cab Snake skin have an official colorway of Khaki/Brown. The uppers are basically leather with a snakeskin print on them. The print itself has some mild texturing to it for the snake scales – a bit less than I thought was going to be the case. All of the eyelets are riveted on these half cabs and they come standard with black laces.
Air Jordan 1 Mid Nouveau Deep Burgundy

Here we have the Air Jordan 1 Mid Nouveau in a shiny deep burgundy colorway. The materials are basically super soft and supple leather with this iridescent shine to them. Overall I feel the Air Jordan 1 Mid Nouveau have been slept on, but the materials make them totally worth checking out!
