Nike SB’s site refers to this time as the “Striped” era thanks to the rainbox colored quickstrike boxes from this time. To me though, this is the Purple Box era. We got some modern legend-style releases from this time such as the Chunky Dunkys, Travis Scotts and Grateful Deads. I remember the releases for those three pairs being crazy!
The resurgence of Nike SB in terms of hype began around the end of the Teal Box era, and continued to ramp up during this time.
Nike SB had pretty much standardized the ankle padding and shape by this time, and many of the GRs (general releases) began to have that signature stiffly padded feel.
While this time period represented the modern pinnacle of SB hype, the popularity of the SB Dunk is still going strong partially from the momentum gained during this time.
Nike SB came in the purple boxes from 1/2020 – 3/2023

The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro B Sequoia is the third entry in Nike’s Pro B revival pack, dressed in a rich, mossy green tone true to its name. Nike’s been channeling early 2000s Pro B energy in 2025, with four pairs rumored to drop throughout the year. This release keeps the theme going with materials and colorblocking that nod to the era.
