A collection of Asics Gel Lyte 3 reviews! This is without a doubt my favorite Asics model. Additionally, this is probably the most popular retro overall from the brand. While some models will temporarily outshine the III from time to time, it’s a standby for Asics that many sneaker collectors are familiar with and continue to collect.
These came out in 1990 as the next evolution in the Gel line. This was Asics answer to all the new running midsole techs that had been releasing in the late 80s/early 90s.
While I may have sold many of the other Asics I had in my collection, I’m still in possession of several pairs of GLIIIs and have reviewed multiple pairs on this site.

Asics Gel Lyte 3 Tourmaline Review
My last Asics pickup were the Kodamatsu pack. While those were somewhat low key, these are super bright. The Asics Gel-Lyte 3 Tourmaline is a new colorway of the “OG” line. I’m pretty sure the Tourmaline nickname refers to the official colorway. Tourmaline is actually a type of gem that displays a greater range of colors than any other gemstone. It comes in every color of the spectrum. Asics chose the name appropriately here as these have like every color on them.

The last pair of GL3 I grabbed were the Daruma Dolls, and now I’m on to these special GRs that Asics put out to start the year. These Asics Gel Lyte III Kadomatsu came out in a pack that includes a blue/green and a tan/beige colorway and represents Japanese Kadomatsu decorations.

The last pair of Asics I grabbed were the the different OG Gel Lyte 3 colorways, but I had to take it to a collab this time. To that end, these Asics Gel Lyte III Sneakerlah x Hundred% are a new collab based on the Malaysian Petronas Twin Towers of Kuala Lumpur. This tower was at one point the world’s tallest tower.
