The last pair of Asics I grabbed were the the different OG Gel Lyte 3 colorways, but I had to take it to a collab this time. To that end, these Asics Gel Lyte III Sneakerlah x Hundred% are a new collab based on the Malaysian Petronas Twin Towers of Kuala Lumpur. This tower was at one point the world’s tallest tower.
It was time to add a pair of Asics to the collection and these do not disappoint. I love getting a collab for retail and people seem to be sleeping on this pair which is great for collectors like me (and hopefully you) that can appreciate a nice GL3 like this.
Apparently there are versions of this release with special packaging although mine came in a brown Asics box. These shipped with one Asics care tag and two sets of rope laces with metal aglets. One set is white and grey and the other is green and grey. These feature a tongue tag with location, date, height and amount of floors statistics for the towers. These also feature “LAH” debossed into the rear of the shoe and a clear outsole with a print of the towers showing through.
How Are The Materials?
The focus here is less on individual material quality and more on the irridescent effects throughout the shoe. The bulk of the upper is silver mesh with a patent-leather type material in silver and irridescent leather on the Asics stripes and backtab. There are also the typical GL3 3M hits on near the toe and on the back of the sneaker. Finally we have a thick, soft (but not buttery) suede panel on the back and a soft leather liner which is fairly plush. Overall the variety of materials and irridescent effects around the uppers make the materials here very special and very awesome, if not premium quality.
How Do They Fit?
These Asics Gel Lyte III Sneakerlah fit true to size. I find that the split tongue makes these easy to slide on and off – and is probably the part of the shoe that most sneakerheads need to get used to if they’ve never worn this model before. Still the shoe is very comfortable if you can get the sizing right.
