The Adidas Intimidation Low x Packer Cyan Blue marks a proper return for one of Adidas’ weirder, more interesting late-’90s silhouettes, brought back through a thoughtful collaboration with Packer. Released alongside a darker counterpart and following up an earlier grey mid-top, this pair leans into bold color and nostalgia while still feeling wearable today.
The Adidas Intimidation originally released in 1999 as part of the Feet You Wear (FYW) performance line, designed as a cross-training and lifestyle model. The Low version trims things down while keeping the aggressive tooling intact. If the shape looks familiar, it should—the Yeezy 500 famously borrowed its midsole and outsole tooling directly from the Intimidation, helping reintroduce this platform to a new generation. On this Packer collab, details nod back to the OGs: Packer branding appears in the same style as the original Intimidation logo on the left insole and right tongue tag, while the original Adidas Intimidation branding sits on the left tongue tag. The FYW logo shows up on the right insole to complete the archival callouts.
I hadn’t bought a pair of Adidas since 2022, so I was overdue—and when these dropped to $85 shipped around Christmas, it was an easy decision. I love how out-there this silhouette feels compared to the rest of my collection. It’s bulky, weird, and unapologetically late-’90s. The gradient upper also gave me Air Garnett 3 vibes, which I used to own back in the day, adding an extra layer of nostalgia for me.
These come in a black Adidas box and include two sets of oval laces: one cream and one brown, both working nicely with the upper depending on the look you’re going for.
Materials
This isn’t really a “materials-first” sneaker, but it doesn’t feel cheap either. You get a mix of mesh and synthetics with some nice suede hits near the heel that elevate the overall feel. Construction is solid and feels intentional, especially for a $120 retail collab—and at the sale price, these feel like a steal.
Fit & Comfort
The Intimidation Low fits comfortably at true to size. Underfoot, the ride will feel very familiar if you’ve worn a Yeezy 500—the same midsole/outsole concept delivers a stable, supportive feel with decent step-in comfort. There’s no Boost-level squish here, but it’s far from stiff. Overall, it’s a very comfortable casual shoe that works well for all-day wear.
If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
