Saucony 3D Grid Hurricane x Claima Nola Review

Updated December 5, 2025 by Anthony

The Saucony 3D Grid Hurricane x Claima Nola brings Claima – “Claim A Seat At The Table,” the Portland-based creative agency founded by Bimma Williams – back for another collab on this classic ’90s runner. Their earlier Hurricane featured a brighter white-and-purple palette, but this follow-up leans into richer, earthier tones with a tan/gold base that gives the model a fresh personality.

The 3D Grid Hurricane first released in the late ’90s as a premium stability runner within Saucony’s performance line, known for its plush cushioning and chunky design language, utilizing Grid technology. This Claima edition blends that heritage with a New Orleans–inspired palette: purple and yellow hits nod to the Pelicans’ colors, while the heels stitch “Claima” and “NOLA” across the left and right shoe, and the insoles sport Claima’s “Claim A Seat” branding to round out the theme.

I’d been hunting for a Saucony collab on an older model – something with that ’90s tech-runner flavor – and this pair checked every box. After browsing deals across boutiques, I spotted these on Burn Rubber for just $77 shipped, which made the decision instant. The colors, the model choice, and the overall execution make this the perfect pair to represent the Hurricane line in my rotation.

They arrive in a special purple co-branded box and come laced with white flat laces, plus an extra purple set. Both include purple and gold aglets stamped with “Claima.”

Materials

Mostly suede and mesh, with the suede being surprisingly soft – way nicer than you’d expect at this price point. Saucony usually delivers great construction on their collabs, and this pair fits that trend perfectly. For what I paid, the material quality is almost unbelievable.

Fit & Comfort

Comfort is solid at true to size. The shoe runs slightly on the roomy side, but most feet should be fine TTS unless you’re a wide footer who prefers trying pairs on first. As a reissue of a stability trainer, it gives a supportive, steady ride and works great for casual, all-day wear.

If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
