The Nike SB Dunk Low Dark Team Red is a general release that leans into fall colors — even if it dropped right in the middle of summer!
The nickname comes from the official colorway, but some are calling these the “Dark Barts” or even “Borts,” (inside Simpsons joke) thanks to the deeper red and greenish-yellow tones echoing a darker twist on the Bart Simpson SB Dunks.
I’ve been keeping my radar up for new general release SBs, especially ones with full suede uppers, and this pair fit the bill. I grabbed them right when they dropped on Premier. What drew me in was the color blocking — you’ve got earthy tones and then that unexpected pop of blue on the outsole. It’s just the kind of quirk I like in a GR SB.
These ship in the current standard purple Nike SB box and come with two sets of SB laces: burgundy and olive.
Materials
The shoe features an all-over suede upper, minus the smooth leather Swoosh which adds a little contrast and texture variation. The suede on this pair has a slightly rougher texture than on recent GR releases like the Carbon Monarchs or Red Stardusts, but quality still feels solid overall. For a general release, these hold up well and feel built to last.
Fit & Comfort
As usual with SB Dunks, I went a half size up. That’s pretty standard practice if you want a bit more wiggle room, especially with the padded tongue and snug collar. At that size, these feel fine on foot and break in comfortably with a few wears. No surprises here if you’ve worn SB Dunk Lows before — classic padded feel, solid for skating or casual wear.
If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
