New Balance 530 Summer Pack Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

I did a pickup video of these on my YouTube channel and my homie inferred these were an old person’s shoe. And now, when I look at the New Balance 530 Summer Pack I can’t get it out of my head!

I’m a big fan of New Balance and I was able to grab these using a Winner’s Circle coupon (pretty sure they sold out on Finishline though at this point). Personally, I think this is one of the doper colorways of the 530 as it seems to be a throwback to a 90s-type mix of colors with the white, grey and teal. These are apparently part of a Summer Pack that is colored up perfectly for summer months.

While not NB ID levels of suede, the suede on the navy part above the toebox and on the “N” logo is surprisingly nice! The grey suede around the toebox is less premium but still decent. The leather, mesh and 3M all come together with the suede for a shoe with a great combination of materials, all of decent to good quality. Overall, I’d say the materials are a little better than what you would expect just seeing a picture of these online.

The New Balance 530 Summer Pack fits true to size and is very comfortable. I’m really glad I picked these up! If these are truly an old man shoe, I can see why – the comfort level for just standing around and whatnot is perfect for people of all ages! Obviously if styled right, people of all ages can enjoy these.
