These aren’t my first pair of Gel-Respectors, and probably won’t be my last! I almost passed on the Asics Gel-Respector Tonal Pack Grey, but then I saw some really dope pics of these on Instagram and knew the quality was going to be on point.
I definitely was not disappointed! These released in a pack with a tan pair and a dark blue pair. I wound up also scooping the tan pair. Basically, the shoes in the pack are mostly one color with slight hits of another color. In this case, the grey is offset by some purple branding and accenting on the Asics stripes.
These are an easy match up. Basically, just put on some grey and light blue into your fit and you will be good to go! You could also sport these with a blackout-type outfit as well.
The Gel-Respector has always been hit or miss with the Asics crowd thanks to the toebox. The odd blocking can turn off some people. At first, I wasn’t too sure about it myself, but now I absolutely love it and will definitely be picking up more pairs. If you want a solid retro runner with great materials, shape and comfort, definitely take a look at the Gel-Respector!
How Are The Materials?
BUTTER. The material on these is basically a really nice suede. I was so happy when I finally saw how nice these were in person! Soft suede and clean, solid construction make these a winner. The rope laces are a tad odd on this shoe, but I think they work!
How Do They Fit?
The Asics Gel-Respector Tonal Pack Grey fit true to size for me. Reports differ on this model, with some people saying size down and others claiming a tighter fit. For me though, good old true size wins out. The shape on these is superb too, especially from a profile view. I barely had to do any reshaping on these to achieve that nice pointy toe.
