Air Jordan 1 Retro High Rare Air Cool Grey Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

Well, I can’t say I’m not feeling the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Rare Air Cool Grey. At first I must admit,

I was on the fence. Online they looked like another poor quality pair of AJ1s being mass produced to capitalize on the popularity of the OG High series. I was wrong!

The shoes feature “AIR JORDAN” written where the wings logo would be, mostly leather uppers except for a textile on the tongue and around the ankle collar. The most obvious difference though would be the interchangeable patches on the tongue. The velcro tongue tag has a white “RARE AIR” lettering by default, but can be switched for a red version, a lime green jumpman or a white jumpman patch.

The materials on these are far from poor quality. The leather is nice and smooth and the shoe has a classy look and feel to it in person. If you are holding off because these seem like other crappy AJ1 mids, don’t worry! These are actually really nice in hand!

As for sizing, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Rare Air Cool Grey are basically comfortable although a tad narrow like most Air Jordan 1s. I would definitely go true to size – avoid sizing down on these if you value your pinky toes!
