The Air Jordan 1 Retro OG High Black Toe is an original AJ1 colorway that was retro’d in 2013. Instead of a Jumpman on the tongue, these received full OG treatment with a “Nike Air” tongue tag and the higher cut of the original.
What To Sport These With?
Pretty much anything works with these. Good combinations would be khakis and a white tee with black coat, light colored denim with a black crewneck or dark pants with a black top. In other words, either a light fit that shows off the kicks, or a darker fit that gives a more downplayed look.
How Are The Materials?
The smooth leather upper helps convey the simplicity of this classic shoe. The quality is pretty good for a more recent release. It’s not quite as on the money as some other premium leather kicks such as my favorite Sk8-His, but it does the job and beats the plastic leather of many previous Jordan releases.
How Do They Fit?
These fit snug, but not uncomfortable if you go true to size or half size up (like many 1s). The newer Jordan 1 releases aren’t bad on fit as long as you don’t plan on doing a lot of walking or activity. For standing around or chilling, J1s are the perfect looking casual shoe!
These joints are now really expensive for something that retailed at $140. Like nearly all the OG colorways that retro’d with the Nike Air tongue tag, these sold out instantly and are still sought after today. I’m a big fan of Air Jordan 1s so I had to add these to the collection.
Where To Cop the Air Jordan 1 Retro OG High Black Toe
As of the writing of this article, eBay is your best bet for these. Watch out for fakes!
