I’ve covered a good amount of Vans on my blog, and I’m always surprised at how slept on shoes like the Vans Era 59 Rubber are.
These dropped as part of a “Pig Suede” pack along with some other colorways and are part of the Vans California line. Super plain clothes work really well with these nondescript Vans.
These are the type of shoe that you don’t really notice until you see them up close. I like rocking these with either light or dark denim and white, grey or navy tops. I typically don’t rock very “street” looking outfits with a shoe like this.
The materials are extremely nice on these. Being part of a “Pig Suede” pack, these exude a premium look and feel. I’m not sure if it’s literal pig suede or a synthetic material, but either way it is buttery and lush. These sneakers complete the look with a nice leather backtab. I hope Vans continues to come out with kicks with this level of quality!
How Do They Fit?
The Vans Era 59 Rubber fit true to size and are somewhat comfortable out of the box. Probably the worst problem with Eras and Authentics are ankle/heel rub on the backtab. After some break in, these become extremely comfy! Expect them to feel a little awkward at first if you’re not used to Eras. Be confident that eventually these will fit like a glove!
Plain shoes like this get slept on a lot, but really these kicks exude everything that is dope about sneakers! These have nice materials, a good price point and look great. Not to mention, now it is nearly impossible to find this exact colorway. I highly recommend picking up a premium pair of Era 59s if you can find them!
