I feel like my life wouldn’t be complete unless I owned at least one pair of these. Typical collector mentality. That said, the Saucony Grid 8000 CL Light Blue is a purchase I’m actually stoked on!
When it comes to pointy toe old school runner goodness, these definitely fit the bill, and I was surprised at how nice they are in person. If these are going to be my token pair of 8000s, then I welcome them into my Saucony family with open arms!
I’m not sure if these are really based around anything inspiration-wise; these were among the first colorways to retro last year so it might have been more about them simply coming out and being available to the public rather than some overt thing that they’re based on. Still, I think this colorway is smooth, I’m digging the two-toned blue with the orange hits!
How are the materials?
Well, these materials are slightly more rugged than that found in more premium pairs of Sauconys, but it’s still really nice! I was very surprised considering the price point I got them at. That said, I did notice some inconsistencies in the shape and build between the left and right shoe. This was particularly noticeable around the collar. Those are minor gripes though, as overall I’m loving the quality of materials used. If other pairs of Grid 8000 CLs are like this, I definitely will be hunting down more pairs eventually.
How do they fit?
The Saucony Grid 8000 CL Light Blue fit true to size for me and are super comfy. The shape as mentioned before is perfect. Additionally, the suede and mesh combo helps make these extra light, breathable and comfortable. I’d say overall I’m digging how the Saucony Grid 8000 CL fit and even through writing this article I’m already thinking these will not be my token pair of 8Ks at all. I’m probably going hunting for some more pairs at the price point I got these at, which really can’t be beat for comfort and value!
