Today I’m doing another Alife x Puma collab! The Puma Suede X Alife Whisper White is part of a pack that also includes a black pair.
I’m not sure what the inspiration is exactly for these but the spare laces say 15 years and running, so this might be an anniversary celebration shoe for Alife. In any case there are a lot of details on these which help them to stand out.
The vintage effect is the first obvious detail, followed by Alife branding on the side logo, insole, tongue tag and aglets. The shoe also features and NYC printed on the backtab.
These came in a pull-out drawer style shoebox packaged with an Alife branded dustbag to carry the laces in. Finally, these have red on the outside Puma stripes and purple on the inside.
How Are The Materials?
These are solidly constructed with obvious attention to detail. The “vintaged” suede and midsole definitely gives the intended effect. The leather ankle liner is nice as well. Unfortunately, the “dirty” suede is rough to the touch – not buttery in the least. Still, considering these are made to look kind of beat, the materials are reasonable quality.
How Do They Fit?
These Puma Suede X Alife Whisper White look great on feet, fit true to size and are fairly comfortable. They seem like they would be kind of stiff, and they are, but not so much that the shoe is unwearable. This is definitely a casual shoe, so you don’t want to push it athletically in these, but for just hanging around or walking, these are comfy enough to wear for a few hours at a time at least.
