The Air Jordan 11 Concord is the other original pair of XI’s I own. By original, I mean this pair actually came out in 1995-1996.
The shoe gets its name from the colorway and is one of the most well known Air Jordan 11 colorways that exist!
I personally think darker outfits (black pants and top) work best with these. However, since it’s shorts weather, these are perfect for rocking with some sweatshorts or basketball shorts and a t-shirt.
I got these deadstock, and within 2 minutes of wearing them, the soles separated. Just goes to show you – wear your kicks! The glues holding the clear soles on can dry out and the soles can come right off! One reglue later, and they are now about as wearable as ever. While I do have a newer retro of these that released a couple of years ago, I had to grab a pair of these when I saw them pop up at a halfway decent price so I can own a piece of Air Jordan history!
How Are The Materials?
The materials used on these consists of thick mesh and patent leather. Both are very well constructed and of excellent quality. The soles and white mesh can yellow over time, but on these, I feel like it adds a bit of vintage character and really lets someone know that these are not the most recent release. The shape on these is also a bit sleeker and definitely more aesthetically pleasing than newer incarnations of the AJXI.
How Do They Fit?
The OG Air Jordan 11 Concord fit a little snug and stiff. I don’t think that you necessarily have to size up (I went true to size), but just be aware that the patent creates a snug fit. For me, as these get worn and broken in, the comfort increases – they were decent to begin with and have begun to be one of the more comfortable OG’s I have from that time period!
