Nike SB Dunk Mid Orange Label Review

Updated September 10, 2020 by Anthony

The last dunk I reviewed were the Doraemons, and now we’re going for a sneaker that is not based off a TV show. Instead, we get my first dunk mids in a long time, these Nike SB Dunk Mid Orange Label. The colorway is strongly reminiscent of the Griptape Mid SB Dunks that released a few times over the years.

These Nike SB Dunk Mid Orange Label fit like a modern SB, which for me entails going a half size up. This gives additional comfort and room and minimizes break-in and pinky rub. I might have been able to eventually break in a true to size pair, but I prefer to skip that and just go the half size up. These are fairly comfortable, providing a similar level of cushion to any other SB dunk. I prefer wearing the straps open for style, but additional ankle support can be attained by strapping them properly.

These come in the newer orange label box with the swoosh on the lid. They ship with sets of black and white SB laces with orange aglets. Otherwise, these seem fairly nondescript for a limited dunk release.

I slept on the last round of “plain” orange label releases, but these being similar in colorway to the Griptapes from the Gold/Blue box days got me more excited for this pair. Also, I haven’t had any mids in a long time, so this is a good re-entry for me into the dunk SB mid. To be fair, they don’t produce many mid colorways these days so these are more of a rarity than you might think!

How Are The Materials?

These feature some nice materials. We basically get a very soft leather throughout the upper. While not the plushest I’ve ever seen in my life, the leather here is very good for a Nike SB release. This particular pair is clearly focusing more on the quality of the sneaker than some kind of collab or other influence.

How Do They Fit?

These fit true to size, but to minimize break-in time, I like going with a half size up in modern SBs. Either way, once broken in, these are very comfortable!
