Nike SB Dunk Low Pine Green Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

I’m on a roll with the SB Dunk pickups after swooping up that Desert Sand pair. It’s been a while since I’ve owned a “J-Pack” colorway, until picking up these Nike SB Dunk Low Pine Green.

The “J-Pack” nickname refers to the colorblocking, reminiscent of an old Air Jordan 1 color scheme with the placement of black vs color on the shoe. Thus these have the nickname of Green J-Pack. They come with a set of green laces and a set of black laces.

Green shoes are tough to pull off sometimes. However with these, there is so much black that a lot of different looks actually work with these. Black or dark blue denim is probably the easiest match up, although grey pants can work as well. Khaki and light colored denim might work, however those will be a little more challenging to put together. Either way, throw a black top on and you’re good to go. I prefer jeans that make nice stacks while exposing the fat tongue for the best overall SB Dunk low look

These GRs have just been dropping and selling out instantly, ever since Nike SB started giving the dunks back to skate shops exclusively. Overall, that makes kicks like these seem a little more valuable to a collector, even though they’re just a basic general release. Still, I’m glad to have these green J-Packs in the collection!

How Are The Materials?

The materials here are short hair suede / nubuck and a leather swoosh and toebox. The nubuck is actually fairly smooth while the leather is very basic in quality. Overall, these are slightly better than some of the other GR SB’s I’ve picked up recently, but not by much. If you like materials on SB’s, you probably won’t hate these but you won’t be terribly excited about them either.

How Do They Fit?

These Nike SB Dunk Low Pine Green are comfy at true size. I prefer a half size up in order to get less pinky rub and a faster break in. They fit a little big at that size, but provide more comfort based on my foot shape. Modern SBs can be comfy for casual wear if you get the right size. If you’re going to use these for skating, you might want to go true to size instead, as having extra room might impede performance.
