The Ben & Jerry SBs were my last SB pickup and were pretty tough to get. Back to some GR’s (also tough to get apparently). These Nike SB Dunk Low Muslin Hennessy are somewhat reminiscent of Hennessy cognac.
These released alongside the Blue Fury colorway which is supposedly a sendup to Hypnotiq.
These come in a purple Nike SB General Release box and ship with black and tan sets of SB laces. One cool feature is the laces have gold colored aglets. Other than that, this release is fairly straightforward with standard GR SB features.
These aren’t “limited” but these days all SB’s are kind of hard to find, so if you are a dunk fan and can track a pair down, definitely give them a shot!
How Are The Materials?
These have a few different materials with varying degrees of impressiveness. The suede used around most of the shoe is fairly “regular”, along with the leather used on the swoosh. There’s also a plastic piece on the backtab. While all those materials are fairly average general release quality, there is a very soft nubuck type material on the toebox and side panels which feels great to the touch. Overall the quality here is a mixed bag but still a step up from what I was expecting for a GR, so I’m pleasantly surprised by these.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike SB Dunk Low Muslin Hennessy got the modern SB fit, which for me means going a half size up. This gives additional comfort and room and minimizes break-in and pinky rub. These definitely keep the stiff and narrow SB fit going so half size up helped for me to have a decent level of comfort right out of the box.
