The Nike SB Dunk Low x Dashawn Jordan “Diamondbacks” is a collaboration with Dashawn Jordan, an X Games gold-medalist skateboarder from Arizona. The colorway draws inspiration from the early-2000s palette of the Arizona Diamondbacks, specifically referencing the team’s 2001 World Series “Copperhead” fitted cap that featured a distinctive snakeskin brim. The result is a bold Nike SB Dunk Low skate shoe that blends baseball nostalgia with skate culture aesthetics.
Launched in 2002, the Nike SB Dunk re-engineered the original 1985 Nike Dunk for skateboarding by adding padded tongues, Zoom Air cushioning, and improved traction. Over the years it has become one of the most recognizable skate sneakers and streetwear staples, thanks to high-profile collaborations and creative colorways like this Dashawn Jordan edition.
Design details really drive the theme here. The sneaker includes die-cast snakehead dubraes, a coiled snake graphic on the inner tongue, and Dashawn Jordan branding intertwined with a diamondback graphic on the insoles. The tongue tag also features the Nike SB script with Dashawn Jordan printed beneath it, tying the collaboration together with subtle but thoughtful touches.
I’ve always liked Skeletor-style color palettes, and coincidentally when these were announced I had been thinking about grabbing a different snakeskin Dunk as a reachback pair. Once I saw these, that idea went out the window; they just looked way better. The snakeskin overlays and multiple lace options really sold me on them. I managed to grab a pair from Premier right when they dropped, and I was even able to use a 15% off coupon, which sealed the deal.
Packaging follows the standard Nike SB purple box, and the pair comes with five lace options: black with metal aglets, regular black, teal, orange, and purple, nice variety if you like switching up the look.
Materials
Material-wise, the upper features a black suede base with textured faux-snakeskin leather overlays. The suede is typical SB quality, not ultra-buttery but still soft and durable. The snakeskin overlays are the standout element here, adding visual depth and tying directly into the Diamondbacks theme. Overall, the materials and construction feel appropriate for a collaborative SB Dunk release.
Fit & Comfort
Fit is typical SB Dunk Low sizing. I went half a size up to account for the thicker padded tongue and to reduce break-in time. Underfoot you get the familiar Zoom Air cushioning in the heel, which gives the shoe a bit of responsive snap along with decent step-in comfort. For me it’s not an all-day wear sneaker, but it works well for a few hours of casual wear or streetwear use once broken in.
If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
