The Nike SB Air Max 95 Cacao Wow is the third colorway released as part of the ongoing collaboration between Nike SB and the Air Max 95, with the name coming directly from the colorway itself. This pair leans into earthy brown tones layered over the iconic gradient paneling, giving the classic 95 silhouette a more grounded, lifestyle-friendly look while still keeping its aggressive edge.
The Nike SB Air Max 95 reworks Sergio Lozano’s original Air Max 95 design to better suit skateboarding while maintaining its recognizable DNA. Changes include a lower-profile Air unit, a thinner and more flexible midsole for improved board feel, and a more durable upper built to handle wear. The SB version also features a specialized herringbone outsole for grip, reinforced turn-and-stitch seams, and co-branded SB hits on the tongue and heel, clearly separating it from the standard Air Max 95.
This is easily my favorite colorway of the SB Air Max 95 releases so far, and I was glad to finally pick them up for retail from CCS. I really like how the brown tones play off the gradient upper, and the black midsole is a big plus, giving the shoe a look that feels closer to the classic Neon 95 setup. Overall, this colorway just feels the most balanced and wearable out of the SB/AM95 mashups.
The sneaker comes in a purple Nike SB box and includes white skinny rope laces. Packaging is clean and consistent with Nike SB releases, without any unnecessary extras.
Materials
Material quality is a strong point on this pair. The premium suede used on the mudguard gradient and toe cap are soft to the touch, the leather at the top of the gradient looks and feels great as well and everything feels solid and well put together. Given that the Air Max 95 sits on the higher end of Nike’s pricing spectrum, it’s good to see materials and construction that feel worthy of the retail price.
Fit & Comfort
Fit-wise, these are actually more comfortable than a standard Air Max 95, even with the smaller Air unit. The fit feels more true to size, and step-in comfort is surprisingly good right out of the box. While I can’t speak to how they perform for skating, for casual wear these work very well and are easy to wear for extended periods.
