Continuing with my onslaught of comfy, non-hype pickups, I finally have obtained a pair of Nike React Prestos.
The colors of the upper on the Breakfast colorway do resemble eggs for the most part. I’m already a fan of Nike’s React technology, and I’ve never owned a pair of Prestos before, so this is a perfect storm of a shoe for me to experience!
Each pair of this model, even the most basic GR colorways, has a theme which is revealed on the insole graphic. On the Breakfast colorway, we have an image of Eggs-In-A-Basket/Rocky Mountain Toast with a spoon. Those ship with blue laces with speckels.
I knew this model would eventually hit sales, and I was able to grab two colorways for under retail. While some have debate the overall looks of the shoe, I find them no more odd than any other “modern” type runner. I like how each pair has a theme and of course, the evolution of React technology into increasingly comfortable shoe models.
How Are The Materials?
This is not what I would call a “materials” shoe, rather these are more of a comfort shoe. While there are some minor suede hits on the back of the shoe, they are of average GR quality. Most of the upper consistes of a layered mesh and neoprene, while the top of the tongue has a tougher balistic mesh type of texture. Overall the uppers lend themselves well to being comfortable and allowing the shoe to be slipped on. The quality is still there on the materials in that they function correctly for this type of shoe, however if you’re looking for suedes, leathers and buttery textures, this is not a first choice.
How Do They Fit?
These Nike React Presto Breakfast are very comfy at true to size. Keep in mind, Nike’s “stretchy” shoes tend to look weird in the toebox if there’s too much room up front. The React cushioning combined with a Presto upper provides an insane amount of comfort and is probably one of the best feeling Nike models to date for casual wear.
