Nike KD VII XMAS Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

Typically, most of the major footwear brands worn in the NBA will release some kind of Holiday-related kicks during winter. The Nike KD VII XMAS is part of a now annual Nike Basketball holiday pack.

This particular colorway of the VII is based around egg nog, Kevin Durant’s supposed favorite holiday drink. These feature a splatter effect on the midsole and rear of the shoe meant to emulate condensation on a glass of egg nog along with a special insole graphic. I think these are a great shoe that got kind of slept on, and one of the better colorways of the KD VII that really pops on foot.

These are comprised of 3M on the tongue logo, a lightweight flywire and mesh up front, posite material in back and come with bright crimson oval laces. The quality seems good for a Nike hoop shoe, solidly built.

As far as comfort goes, these fit on the snug side at true to size. I highly recommend trying a pair on if you can as the form is a bit small and stiff. If I could go back, I probably would have grabbed a half size up on these for casual wear.
