Continuing on my thin tongue trend, these Nike Dunk SB Low Decon Black take things just a step further.
Not only are the tongues slimmer, the padding is almost nonexistent all around the shoe! What little stuffing the tongue has is exposed on top, as the decon stands for “deconstructed”.
You could literally pull anything out of your closet and it will go with these! I went with a mostly black outfit as shown here, but I could also see dark blue or even light wash denim, khakis, grey pants, you name it! Definitely don’t overthink an outfit with these; simpler is easier and cleaner.
Minimalism on a model that is known for wacky colorways and send-ups is actually refreshing. And decon does not in this case equate to uncomfortable either. Overall I think people are going to sleep on these hard, but they are some of the most worthwhile dunks I’ve picked up in a long time!
How Are The Materials?
The materials are very, very good on these. Very soft suede comprises the upper with some texturing to the leather to give a premium feel. Overall the shoe just seems well crafted and definitely has me interested in other decon models from Nike. At least, if all the materials on those are up to par with these. Materials fanatics rejoice!
How Do They Fit?
These Nike Dunk SB Low Decon Black fit perfectly for me at true to size. The lack of padding means some extra room around the ankle. That said, even without the padding, these are very comfortable! Whereas a lot of fancier kicks with less padding tend to have sharp edges that cut into the ankle, the nice suede on these provides enough flexibility to not get that issue.
