I was looking back, and I haven’t reviewed an OG retro of this model since the the “91 QS” in 2018. I made sure to pick up as many Nike Air Huarache retro colorways as I could find. This series of releases are mainly retros of original colorways from 1991-92.
These come in the throwback reddish orange box with grey stripes on the bottom similar to the Air Max 3 retros we’ve been seeing, only regular width instead of skinny. They come with plain white laces. The paper in the box also sports a special print pattern.
How Are The Materials?
The upper here is pretty much leather and neoprene/mesh with some plastic pieces towards the heel for support. The neorprene is fine; it is what it is. I can only really comment on the leather being used and it is definitely soft and has a nice finish to it. Overall I’d say the materials are nice compared to other general release huaraches I’ve gotten in the past; the shoe has a premium look and feel to it even if the bulk of the upper is neoprene.
How Do They Fit?
These have a reputation for fitting small. I went a half size up and I found them to fit snug but not uncomfortable. Underfoot these an sport encapsulated air unit with a chunky foam sole (yet still look sleek). The cushioning on these is indeed very comfy.

I had the last retro of these from 2014 and I remember not being particularly impressed on the quality. While this is more of a retro appeal type of shoe than a premium materials thing, I knew they could get it right thanks to the quality on the 91 QS versions from a couple years ago. Thus, I had a feeling these would be a lot better than those and I feel like I am correct in that assessment.
