After picking up the 3M Snake AF1s, I had to go back and complete the AF1 B pack. The Nike Air Force 1 Wheat Mocha is a direct retro of a 2001 co.jp release in a similar vein to the Hong Kong and Silver Snake AF1.
These come in the black AF1 box which usually indicates a higher quality release. These don’t ship with a deubré but they do include tan flat laces. Other than that, not too much going on with this sneaker.
I always regretted selling my pair of Hong Kongs and after picking up the silver snakes I had to go back and get those and these! Now I have all three in the set!
How Are The Materials?
The upper here is nubuck including the tongue. The feel on these is similar to the Flax pair, although these produce much less of a backstroke. Still there is some motion to the grain and the nubuck is very soft. Overall I’m a fan of these materials and I think fans of the AF1 will be pleasantly surprised by the softness on the upper.
How Do They Fit?
These fit similar to other Air Force 1s: big. Going down a half size can help counter this.. These are cushy and comfy and only slightly heavy feeling thanks to that big chunky midsole and hidden air unit. The nubuck used here gives these a bit more flexibility on the upper which adds to the comfort a bit as well.
