The Nike Air Force 1 Wheatgrass Camo takes a familiar concept—pattern-heavy AF1 lifestyle releases—and pushes it in a slightly more experimental direction with a mottled camouflage-inspired textile upper. The pair loosely echoes releases like the earlier “Bouclé” colorway that used patterned fabric and fuzzy laces, but here the focus is less on luxury inspiration and more on a nature-toned camo aesthetic built around earthy greens and neutrals.
Originally designed by Bruce Kilgore in 1982, the Air Force 1 was Nike’s first basketball shoe to feature Air cushioning and has since evolved into one of the most recognizable lifestyle sneakers ever created. This version stands out by incorporating canvas paneling, camo-style patterning, and mixed materials, giving the classic silhouette a more textured, layered look compared to the countless smooth-leather AF1 colorways that release each year.
As soon as these showed up on the SNKRS calendar, I already knew they were going to be a pickup. I’m always down for a good camo sneaker, and this pair has just enough personality to stand out without being overly loud. It also feels like one of those colorways that won’t be everywhere, which adds to the appeal. I ended up grabbing my pair for retail on release day through SNKRS.
Packaging is standard Air Force 1 presentation. The pair comes in the black AF1 box and includes fuzzy light green laces that complement the overall theme nicely.
Materials
Material quality is solid for the price point. The upper primarily features canvas with a mottled camo pattern, paired with nubuck on the eyelets and heel panels. We even get some hairy suede on the swoosh. The nubuck sections feel noticeably premium to the touch, and the mix of textures gives the shoe a more elevated feel than a standard leather AF1. Overall, the materials match the mid-tier premium pricing and help the pair stand out visually.
Fit & Comfort
Fit is typical Air Force 1 sizing, meaning a very roomy true-to-size fit, though going a half size down can also work depending on preference. Underfoot, it’s still that classic AF1 setup—slightly clunky by modern standards due to the older tooling, but comfortable enough for everyday casual wear.
If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
