Nike Air Force 1 Heat Map Review

Updated April 21, 2026 by Anthony

The Nike Air Force 1 Heat Map gets its name from temperature-style graphics applied across the upper, particularly towards the rear of the shoe, giving this classic lifestyle sneaker a vibrant, almost digital look. These released in a pack alongside a black-based pair. It’s a more playful take on the Air Force 1, using bold gradients to stand out compared to more traditional colorways.

Originally designed in 1982 by Bruce Kilgore, the Nike Air Force 1 was Nike’s first basketball shoe to feature Air cushioning and has since become one of the most recognizable sneakers in both streetwear and casual fashion. This version stands out thanks to its bright green colorway and heat map-style graphics across the upper, along with a star-shaped dubrae that adds a bit of extra personality to an otherwise familiar silhouette.

I was drawn to these mainly because they look so different from your typical AF1. The heat map graphic really stands out on the side panels, midsole, and clear outsole, but there are also smaller hits worked into the details, like around the toebox perforations and panel edges. It all comes together in a way that feels unique without being overdone. I picked these up on release day from SNKRS.

They come in the standard black Air Force 1 box and include matching green laces along with the star dubrae, which ties into the overall theme.

Materials

Material-wise, the upper appears to be a synthetic or coated leather base with the heat map graphic printed over it. A bit stiff on the upper, this isn’t a pair you’re picking up for premium or interesting materials, but the construction feels solid overall. The focus here is clearly on the visual design and graphics, rather than soft or high-end textures.

Fit & Comfort

Fit is typical Air Force 1 sizing, running a bit roomy at true to size. Some may prefer going a half size down depending on foot shape, but I usually stick with my regular size. Underfoot, you get that classic AF1 cushioning, which feels a bit bulky compared to newer sneakers but still works well for casual wear for a few hours at a time.

If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
