The New Balance 993 Olive Leaf / Maize is a straightforward but striking colorway from the Made in USA 993 line. It is another Teddy Santis colorway that released alongside the Mushroom 993 I reviewed earlier. I look at these two as kind of a “pack” of GR 993s.

I was able to grab this pair for $124 shipped from Joe’s New Balance Outlet, saving about half off retail. The earthy olive leaf and violet combo gives off strong Skunk and TMNT vibes, and after picking up one pair, I couldn’t resist grabbing the other from the pack as well!.
Packaging is standard for the line. The sneakers come in the basic tan Made in USA 993 box and include light green flat laces as well as green speckled flat laces.
Materials
Materials on this pair include decently textured suede (not super buttery but still nice) overlays and breathable mesh underlays, built with the quality expected from Made in USA New Balance releases. The construction is solid, with durable stitching and premium paneling, making it a reliable lifestyle sneaker that holds up well for everyday wear.

Fit is roomy at true to size, and the combination of ABZORB midsole and ACTEVA cushioning provides a stable, comfortable ride with good impact absorption. The 993 is one of the most comfortable retro NBs, suitable for all-day casual wear or streetwear styling.
