The last New Balance pickup for me was the 57/40 and I’ve been getting more interested in newer models from the brand. The 327 is another recent design that I’ve reviewed before, but these New Balance 327 Casablanca take it a step further as a collab!
French fashion brand Casablanca has done collabs on this model before, and this latest version features their signature monogram all over it. These released alongside a similar colorway on the NB237.
I slept on the earlier Casablanca collabs on this model before, and I’m not making that mistake again. I like these so much I’m even thinking about going back for the 237s from the pack!
These ship in a special white box with green branding and text on it including “Casablanca Tennis Club” and “Idealiste 327”. The shoes include flat white laces with gold aglets.
As mentioned, these feature Casablanca’s monogram print on much of the upper. The tongue also sports the Casablanca logo in line with some leaf/vine design.
How Are The Materials?
These aren’t marked as being from the Made lines, however they are a collab. The white perforated leather used on the upper is thin but soft and seems to have a quality finish to it. The N logo on the side seems to also have a decent quality and even some natural grain to it. While the suede is used minimally on the eyelets, it is very soft to the touch. Finally the textile used seems to be well done with good QC and is soft and slightly shiny. Overall, while some of the material is thin, overall these exude a quality look and feel to them; they don’t feel cheap. So while they may not be as buttery as something from the Made lines, these still are worth the retail price in terms of quality.
How Do They Fit?
These New Balance 327 Casablanca are comfy at true to size. The comfort on these feels super basic, just a solid midsole underneath. Not that they’re uncomfy. It’s just not amazing or tech-forward like new models from other brands. To be fair, these are supposedly based on heritage models with a modern twist.
