So, what’s the deal with the sneaker collection (Seinfeld Voice)? Right around 2008, I’d just lost a lot of weight and was in need of an entirely new wardrobe. I was in the process of buying newer, smaller clothes and the time came for a new pair of shoes. Rather than pick some ordinary pair like I normally would, I opted for a more interesting and unique looking pair. The response from others was so strong and positive that I decided to look more into the different kinds of cool sneakers and discovered that collecting sneakers is similar to collecting comics, baseball cards, or any other of the numerous hobbies I had when I was a kid! I’ve been into sneakers ever since – to the extent that I even got an article written about me in the paper! I’ve also been collector of the month in Solecollector Magazine (issue #47)!
I built up a lot of my collection looking for deals on slept-on pairs! I also post deals I find on this very site when I have time.
As for the photography aspect, check out any Sneaker related websites (there are many), and you will typically find posts filled with awesome, artsy footwear shots. I like learning about cameras and taking interesting shots, and it turns out there are actually sites online where you can get recognized for both your collection and photography skills at the same time! You can check out some of my most recent shots below. If you’re curious, I currently shoot with a Nikon D3100 (Amazon link) and mostly use a 50mm lens.
My eBay account is where I list my current sneakers available for sale (if I happen to be selling any).
Here are some quick links to different categories of sneakers:

The Saucony 3D Grid Hurricane x Claima Nola brings Claima – “Claim A Seat At The Table,” the Portland-based creative agency founded by Bimma Williams – back for another collab on this classic ’90s runner. Their earlier Hurricane featured a brighter white-and-purple palette, but this follow-up leans into richer, earthier tones with a tan/gold base that gives the model a fresh personality.

The New Balance 993 Pink Taffy released as part of a small two-pair pack (alongside a blue/black version), bringing a vibrant twist to a model that usually leans neutral. As with all 99X entries, this pair is made in the USA and keeps the signature USA heel embroidery that’s characteristic of the 993.

The New Balance 992 Dark Camo brings a clean, earthy take to one of the most iconic models in the 99X lineup—despite the name, the shoe doesn’t feature actual camo, just a camo-inspired color palette.

The Asics UB11-S Gel-DS Trainer 14 Coneflower is one of the more eye-catching Kiko Kostadinov–associated pairs to drop recently. Any time you see those extra letter/number designations like UB11-S, UB9-S, UB10-S, etc., you know you’re looking at one of the studio-influenced releases. This one definitely carries that elevated, experimental aesthetic.
