The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 BRS Powerwall takes a beloved, hard-to-get colorway from the 2006 Powerwall series and gives it a modern twist on the Big Bubble silhouette. The original design was a tribute to Blue Ribbon Sports (BRS), Nike’s humble beginnings, and while some purists might prefer a straight-up retro, this updated version stands on its own with fresh details.

So, what’s the deal with the sneaker collection (Seinfeld Voice)? Right around 2008, I’d just lost a lot of weight and was in need of an entirely new wardrobe. I was in the process of buying newer, smaller clothes and the time came for a new pair of shoes. Rather than pick some ordinary pair like I normally would, I opted for a more interesting and unique looking pair. The response from others was so strong and positive that I decided to look more into the different kinds of cool sneakers and discovered that collecting sneakers is similar to collecting comics, baseball cards, or any other of the numerous hobbies I had when I was a kid! I’ve been into sneakers ever since – to the extent that I even got an article written about me in the paper! I’ve also been collector of the month in Solecollector Magazine (issue #47)!
I built up a lot of my collection looking for deals on slept-on pairs! I also post deals I find on this very site when I have time.
As for the photography aspect, check out any Sneaker related websites (there are many), and you will typically find posts filled with awesome, artsy footwear shots. I like learning about cameras and taking interesting shots, and it turns out there are actually sites online where you can get recognized for both your collection and photography skills at the same time! You can check out some of my most recent shots below. If you’re curious, I currently shoot with a Nikon D3100 (Amazon link) and mostly use a 50mm lens.
My eBay account is where I list my current sneakers available for sale (if I happen to be selling any).

The Nike Air Max 1 HUF in Pear is a slick throwback to a cult classic. Originally released as a hyperstrike in 2004, this colorway returns in 2024 alongside bold orange and pink versions—but there’s something about this grey and pear green combo that just hits different. It’s a timeless pairing, especially if you’re a fan of the Air Max 1.
