The last retro colorway of this shoe I picked up were the Scream Greens. I grabbed these Nike Air Huarache Escape off Nike right at release date. The shoe is a retro of a popular colorway from 2003.

Here’s all my Nike Huarache reviews! The Nike Huarache first came out in 1991. In my opinion, it mirrors the tech of the time which translated onto the Air Jordan 7.
The neoprene laced, socklike fit of the Huarache was apparently inspired by water skiing. Tinker Hatfield, the shoe’s creator, also had the idea to create a minimalistic, lightweight runner/trainer. Thus, no big, easy to see swoosh on the side.
While many find the Huarache to fit snug, I don’t think it takes away from the comfort if you can get the sizing right. Additionally, newer releases seem to have a nice, cushy midsole that I don’t remember from earlier editions I had bought in my collecting career. I’ve owned a few pairs though, with reviews on most.

I was looking back, and I haven’t reviewed an OG retro of this model since the the “91 QS” in 2018. I made sure to pick up as many Nike Air Huarache retro colorways as I could find. This series of releases are mainly retros of original colorways from 1991-92.

I was looking back, and I haven’t reviewed a pair of this model since the “91 QS” in 2018. I struck out on these shoes on SNKRS, but still managed to find the Nike Air Huarache Stussy in Desert Ore for retail at a different online boutique. Eventually, I went back and grabbed the Dark Olive colorway as well.

The Nike Huarache used to be kind of a niche shoe, but a resurgence a few years ago brought them back into the spotlight, with many palette swapped retros emerging. The Nike Air Huarache Run 91 QS is Nike’s take on bringing the shoe back to it’s original form.
