Nike SB Silver Box

I’ve often said that the Silver Box era from Nike SB is my favorite! That is because in my opinion, some of the best materials used on SBs came during this time.  While many colorways were “inspired” by certain themes, for the most part we didn’t start getting truly themed pairs until the Pink Box era that followed.

Some of my favorite pairs from this time include the Sea Crystals, Irons, Tweeds and Hulks.  We also got Supreme Dunk High collabs!

One thing to note about this time period as far as overall design is that just like the Orange Box era, the “SB” didn’t appear on the tongue tag just yet.  That would occur during the following era as well.

As far as shape, the Dunk Highs from this time did away with the fat tongues from the previous era, outside of the aforementioned Supreme collab.

Nike SB came in the silver boxes from 1/2003 – 9/2004

Phil Knight is a University of Oregon alumni. So, Nikes are always going to be dropping with their team colors. One such example is the Nike Dunk Low SB Buck. The shoe has Phil Knight’s old college nickname “Buck” stitched on the upper rear of each shoe.
