The Asics UB11-S Gel-DS Trainer 14 Coneflower is one of the more eye-catching Kiko Kostadinov–associated pairs to drop recently. Any time you see those extra letter/number designations like UB11-S, UB9-S, UB10-S, etc., you know you’re looking at one of the studio-influenced releases. A collection of reviews of other models of Asics! I have owned multiple pairs and although I have my favorites from the Gel Lyte series, I’m always checking for new models and redos of obscure retros.
Given the various dad shoe and mesh runner Y2K trends that seem to come in and out of style, Asics seems poised to meet the challenge with the pairs it brings to the forefront. My last Asics pickup (and last pickup of 2018) was the Size? x Gel Saga. After that pickup, I realized I had almost passed on one of the more historical Asics releases of late! These Asics Gel Lyte OG are done up in the original colorway of the model from 1987.

I like expanding the collection with wacky Asics models I wouldn’t have thought to buy off top. I used to own one black and red pair a long time ago. Given that these Sneakersnstuff X Asics GT-Cool Xpress are a collab, I figure its a good pair to dip my toes in the water on this odd silhouette.
