It’s been a while since I owned a pair of these! These Air Jordan Future Pure Platinum remind me that I never should have sold the Iron Green colorway off. These get their nickname from the colorway.

I’m a big fan of the Air Jordan line. Most sneaker collectors probably are as well. On this website I’ve reviewed dozens of pairs of Jordans.
The quality and popularity of various releases in the Jordan line of sneakers has varied over time. When I first started collecting, lot of my early pickups besides SB Dunks were Air Jordans.
While my tastes may have changed as far as what I wear day to day and what I find comfortable, there’s no denying that people still love Jordans. The sneaker line is inextricably tied to sneaker culture in general. You can’t collect kicks and not notice the impact and permanence of the Air Jordan retro.
Fit and Technology
While newer Js probably make great basketball sneakers, this site focuses mostly on older models. The Jordan retro speaks more to the collector, generally speaking.
With that said, we are often talking about sneakers with technology that is decades old. Therefore, in general, one should not approach picking up a pair of Jordans as an exercise in comfort. These are not Adidas Ultraboosts!
Instead, collectors tend to focus on the aesthetics, hype, history and stories behind each model and release. That is the magic of the Jordan retro – an ability to tie all these things together to create a legitimate product that appeals to people in many walks of life. Being able to do all this despite the sneakers not boasting the latest cushioning or innovations really speaks to the marketing genius of Nike and Jordan Brand.
In any case, read on to get more information and/or reviews on this popular series of sneakers!

Back in 1989, $110 was a large price to pay for some sneakers. These days, paying over retail is what will happen if you sleep on a release. Luckily, I made sure to cop this retro of the Air Jordan 4 Bred at retail when it dropped in 2012. For those not in the know, “bred” is short for black & red. My pair came in a cement-speckled box with a black top, black laces and a plastic clear/orange Jumpman hangtag. This colorway is literally a classic and I am stoked to be able to own a pair, seeing as any OG pairs are probably unwearable at this point.

Of all the different Air Jordan models, I find 1s probably the easiest to wear. When the Air Jordan 1 Yin Yang pack dropped, I had to grab the white pair.
