It seems like the various sneaker companies all have entries out for that comfortable, low cost casual runner. The most obvious is the Nike Roshe, but today we’re looking at the Adidas ZX Flux in red and black.

The Adidas ZX line originated in 1984 with the ZX500. Originally, the brand intended for them to be performance running shoes. These days, those early models make for some great retro releases!
We even get modern releases in the ZX series with pairs like the ZX Flux or those imbued with modern Boost technology. I went on quite a binge copping modern retros of pairs like the ZX8000 when Adidas was blessing us with all types of colorways.
Turns out, I’ve owned a few different kinds of ZX, and have written several reviews on them.

The original ZX 8000 dropped in 1988 and has been retro’d many times since. Since their initial release, technology has improved and fashion sensibilities have changed, so for those trying to switch it up to something more modern, an updated version is available with the Adidas ZX 8000 Boost.

These Adidas ZX Flux in the electric yellow colorway are definitely some very comfortable head-turners! They ship with yellow and black laces and have the standard lightweight mesh upper found on most early ZX Flux models. A yellow deubré finishes off the look.
Adidas ZX Flux NPS Hawaii Green

Here we have your basic ZX Flux fare, with a green-tinted neoprene mesh base underneath a mostly orange and black Hawaiian print with black accents. I’m guessing the N in NPS stands for neoprene. The look on this pair is capped off with the black laces and yellow Adidas torsion dubre. These came with spare bluish green laces to match the tint of the shoe’s upper.
