I just reviewed the Moon Rock colorway, but the Asics Gel-Respector Moon Crater is in my opinion the better version!
I’m pretty sure this is part of an official pack with the other pair.
This is probably why I like these better than the Moon Rocks. The colorway is easy to match up with almost anything! I’d opt for some light denim and a grey or white top just off rip. However some black pants and a grey top with a black hoodie or layer also would work with these. This simple, clean color scheme should make almost any outfit look good.
The Gel-Respector almost feels like the Gel-Saga of days past. Both use a more standard tongue and overall layout for a retro runner. I’ve found the Respector to be a bit more consistent in quality and I’m always checking for pairs like this when they hit deep discount!
Materials
Just like the other pair, the materials on these are very good for the price! Soft suede covers the shoe, and does not disappoint! If it weren’t for my experience with other nice Asics GRs, I’d be surprised at the quality, but instead I’m ecstatic at the value! The materials are basically better than way more expensive releases from other brands. Basically, the suede isn’t top of the line but it’s very good for what these cost!
Fit
The Asics Gel-Respector Moon Crater fits well at true size or a half size down. On this pair, you’re seeing a half size down, but I’ve gone true to size on this model before and the fit was fine. These are very comfortable and eschew the odd split tongue of the GLIII and the bootie style of the GLV for a more standard runner fit.
