As you can probably tell from reading my blog, I’m a big GLV fan. These Asics Gel Lyte V Atomic Blue are another smooth colorway that I’m stoked to own.
While Asics uses Atomic Blue on a few pairs of kicks, I think it really stands out on this pair as the other colors on the shoe help bring this particular shade of blue to the forefront. This is a model/colorway combination that really looks great on foot!
Like many GR Asics GLV’s, the quality is not the best on these. The synthetic leather plays a minimal role on the shoe and the rest is a sandpaper-ish suede. I do appreciate the 3M hit on the backtab but overall if you’re looking for amazing materials, this probably won’t impress.
How Do They Fit?
These Asics Gel Lyte V Atomic Blue fit true to size and are super comfy. Like most other GLV’s, these provide a snug, yet cushy fit. The neoprene tongue set up ensures that these hug your foot, while the rest of the shoe remains lightweight and breathable. The shape on these is great too, I’m not sure there are too many other types of sneakers with the perfect pointy toe right out of the box. I definitely recommend these for fans of this colorway and retro runners in general.
