Here we have more of my specialty, under-the-radar GR’s. These Asics Gel-Lyte III Mid Blue came out in a pack with tonal red and green pairs.
These basically are identifiable by their composition and materials (more on that below) and are a really clean pair of kicks (I actually copped the green pair too). I think people continue to sleep on Asics GR’s in favor of collabs and high profile limited releases, but they wind up missing out on future classics like these. Plus, my wife has a preference on blue kicks so any time I can pick up a dope pair in a cool shade of blue is a plus!
These GLIII’s have nicer materials than many other pairs I’ve copped. The uppers on these are all suede, rather than a suede/mesh combination. Although we’re not talking premium butter, the suede is still very nice! I was really surprised at how good the quality is on these tonal pairs. The construction seems solid and overall these are well built! Other included materials are leather and 3M.
These Asics Gel-Lyte III Mid Blue fit true to size – do not attempt to size down! If you get the correct size, your feet will love you as these can be very comfortable, but fit snug if you grab even slightly too small of a pair. The split tongue on GLIIIs is a bit weird to see, but on foot it barely makes a difference to me in terms of fit.
