Adidas Gazelle ADV x Familia MNUFC Review

Updated January 2, 2026 by Anthony

The Adidas Gazelle ADV x Familia MNUFC is a collab with Minnesota-based Familia Skateshop, drawing inspiration from Minnesota United FC. It’s a cool crossover between skate culture and soccer fandom, wrapped around one of Adidas’ most timeless silhouettes.

The Adidas Gazelle originally launched in 1966, and the ADV version is the modern skate-oriented update, built with more durability and structure than the classic lifestyle pair. This collaboration leans heavily into the dual branding: MNUFC co-branding appears on the left insole and back tab, while Familia branding hits the right insole and heel. The asymmetry continues on the uppers, with “MNUFC” printed behind the Three Stripes on the right shoe and “Familia” printed on the left, which is a nice subtle detail.

I’ve somehow never owned a pair of Gazelles before, so starting with a skateshop collab felt like the right move. I grabbed these for just $69 shipped from Kinetic, and at that price they were an easy yes. The baby blue and white color combo is a classic, super wearable look that works well beyond the soccer inspiration.

These come in a standard black Adidas box and include two sets of flat laces: white and black, both finished with red aglets.

Materials

The upper is dressed in soft baby blue nubuck, paired with crisp white leather Three Stripes, tongue, and lining. Black leather heel tabs add contrast and help ground the colorway. Overall, the materials are quite nice for a skate shoe—soft where you want them, durable where it counts. For an ADV model, the quality here definitely feels above average.

Fit & Comfort

These fit fine at true to size. Some people find Gazelle ADVs stiffer or slightly larger than standard Gazelles, but neither was an issue for me. They feel a bit roomier, which I don’t mind on a skate-inspired sneaker. While the ADV construction does make them feel a bit more structured than a regular Gazelle, they’re still comfortable for casual wear for a couple hours at a time with no complaints.

If these are sold out at different stores online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
