Adidas Crazy 8 Base Green Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

The Adidas Crazy 8 came out in 1997 as the KB8 and was Kobe Bryant’s signature shoe for his second year in the league.

For it’s time the shoe was incredibly light. Fast forward almost 20 years and the shoe is still being retro’d, albeit without Kobe’s name attached to it.

Before I started this website, I had a lot of pairs of Kobe 4s, 5s and 6s. By the time I had these in my collection, those were mostly sold off already.

The shoe is still surprisingly lighter than it looks! I personally was feeling the hunter / military colorway with the gum sole as a solid look for this model.

The shoe features suede and mesh on the tongue and a canvas upper and comes with tan-tipped green rope laces.

As far as the fit, it appears to be a bit clunky on the outside, but is surprisingly comfortable on the inside. I would go true to size on the Crazy 8.
