Next boost on the menu after a couple of pairs of Iniki/I-5923 runners are these Adidas ZX 500 RM. Basically, these are an updated version of the classic ZX500 model with boost in the midsole and a refined shape.
These also borrow an OG colorway of the 500. Grey shoes are the best! You can pair these with almost anything. I personally went with grey sweats and a lighter grey crewneck but you could sport pretty much any wash of blue or black denim, or even khakis, and match that with a grey, white or black top. This shoe is definitely a strong one for whites, blacks and greys in an outfit.
I’ve come around to updated models with retro uppers and new tech on the outsole, at least for certain models. This is one of the few cases where I even prefer the newer version aesthetically! The ZX500, while dope, has kind of an odd shape on foot and can be hit or miss depending on the angle you’re looking at them. The RM version seems to solve this problem, and if you’re looking for a shoe that pretty much has it all, look no further!
How Are The Materials?
The materials are very good on these! There’s a more traditional mesh on the toebox and a more tightly woven, stretchy mesh near the rear of the shoe. The suede here is the real superstar though! It’s definitely buttery, you can tell the quality just by looking at the shoe! I’m very pleasantly surprised by the overall level of materials used here.
How Do They Fit?
These Adidas ZX 500 RM fit a tad big, and are very comfy. Of course, that boost midsole provides top level comfort, and the stabilizing pieces towards the back of the shoe and under the toebox area give these a bit less of a loose feel than some Inikis. Get whatever size you get in the I-5923 and you should be ok rocking these. Need I yet again mention that the shape is on point?
