Before I collected kicks for real, I would sport random skate shoes all the time. These ES Accel OG Brown & Gum are a retro of one of ES’ first sneakers when the company was established in 1995.
These kicks are consistently marked as one of the greatest skate shoes of all time.
This is a light brown and gum shoe, so these pair well with dark or light denim or green pants/khakis. In any case, don’t feel too constrained on outfits with these; they should match a lot of looks. Even black clothes can work well if done correctly.
Skate shoes were all the rage in the late 90s and early 2000s whether you skated or not. I don’t skate but I definitely got in where I fit in with shoes like this. These kicks bring back serious nostalgia for me on an older style and I’m glad that companies are now retroing classic skate shoes!
How Are The Materials?
The materials on these are ok. There’s a different standard when it comes to true skate shoes. Many are made from suede, but most suedes used are rugged and rough on purpose. That said, the construction of the shoe is on point and the suede is thick if not particularly smooth. I think these will satisfy on materials if you have the right frame of mind on what to expect going in.
How Do They Fit?
These ES Accel OG Brown & Gum fit a a little bit large, but true to size still works thanks to all the padding. I can describe these as slightly bulky and a little heavy, yet still comfy for casual wear and walking around.
