Super old dunks are among some of my favorites, especially co.Jp releases from the late 90s/early 2000s. One such jewel from my collection are these Nike Dunk Low Argon.
Here’s a shoe that I don’t try to match perfectly because that Argon blue is so interesting on it’s own. I like to pair these with a blackout type fit or some dark denim and a grey top in the sunnier months. You can also do the standard blue denim/khakis and a white tee layout with these.
These get their name from the colorway and initially released in Japan around the same time as the City Attack series, with a similar vibe. I was stuffing the tongues on everything back in the day, so the pair I have is slightly customized in this fashion.
It bears repeating: they don’t make them like they used to. Before crazy colors on dunks became all the rage, the dunk was building steam in Japan and these are one of the “crazier” colorways. Eventually, pairs like the Viotechs and of course the SB line would up the ante. This pair of co.Jp dunks helped change the game!
How Are The Materials?
These have a smooth leather upper, and it may be confirmation bias, but I feel like the materials are better than any dunk that has released in the last 5 years. The quality feel good to the touch, the look isn’t too shiny, and these have stood the test of time and still look great!
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Dunk Low Argon fit true to size and are very comfortable. I stuffed the tongue for looks, but these fit well even in the standard configuration.
