For one of my favorite models, I should really own more of these! The Solebox x Puma Blaze of Glory Champagne Pack is a collab between the German boutique and Puma which released in a pack alongside the “Limitless” version of the model.
The shoes obviously celebrate Champagne and feature Solebox branding on the lace tips (both sets), pulltab and insole.
This versatile pair can work with either dark or light outfits. I’ve tried both blackout and light wash denim and grey or white tops with great effectiveness. The colors are fairly subtle on a bulk of the shoe which allows you more room to play around with the rest of the outfit.
Definitely feeling these Pumas! Also, this is my first Solebox collab, so really, two birds one stone! Overall I recommend this shoe if you want to step up from your run-of-the-mill BOG to something a little more high end. Everybody seems to have slept on this release, which is a shame since the looks, colorway and quality are on point.
How Are The Materials?
The materials on these are pretty good! The upper is basically a nubuck that is so smooth it looks like leather. The shoes also feature a cork insole to complete the champagne theme. The mesh seems to be good quality and I’m not seeing any QC issues at all.
How Do They Fit?
These Solebox x Puma Blaze of Glory Champagne Pack fit true to size. The neoprene sock-bootie type tongue keeps the shoe snug to your foot but may be kind of tough to get into. I’ve found that I can pull off a half size down but I wouldn’t recommend that approach unless you’re used to rocking your runners on the snug side. If you can get past how tough it is to squeeze into the shoe, it becomes very comfortable once on foot. The shape is also quintessential retro runner – very pointy and wedge-like.
