The AJXIII is one of my favorite Jordan Brand models. For me, the white and red pair are top, but the Air Jordan 13 Black Red is a close second.
This is a retro of an original colorway with some changes to the materials. Most notably, the mesh is no longer reflective on the 2013 version.
These 13s are among my “never sell” stash of Jordans for a reason! I think Jordan Brand will be hard pressed to release a new colorway of this shoe that beats out the standard white/red and black/red Chicago home and away color schemes. While Playoff 13s are similar in color, the material blocking and murdered-out midsole in my opinion give these the edge.
What To Sport These With?
Black and red shoes make for an easy outfit! Basically just throw on something black or red and some jeans! I almost did a blackout type outfit today but instead I’m going with a red hoodie and some blue jeans. I feel like this is probably the best way to rock these without looking like I’m up to no good 😀
How Are The Materials?
The materials are ok on these. The red suede is nothing special but good enough to add some pop to the shoe. These are mostly comprised of a decent quality synthetic leather and ballistic mesh. As mentioned above, the mesh on this version does not have any 3M in it. The AJ13 does feature some cool holograms near the ankle and on the bottom of the shoe.
How Do They Fit?
The Air Jordan 13 Black Red fit a little roomy but are extremely comfortable. I went true to size. I found the XIII to be one of the more comfortable Air Jordans period. The padding on these is very plush and newer retros seem to retain this plushness, albeit with a stiffer overall upper.
