Feature Saucony Courageous Bacon and Eggs Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

I’ve covered this model on my blog before, and I’m a big fan of this brand so it should come as no surprise that I picked up the Feature Saucony Courageous Bacon and Eggs!

This is a really well thought out collaboration between Saucony and sneaker boutique Feature LV. Everything from the box and paper liner to the colorway scream “breakfast foods”. The packaging and insoles as well as the rear of the shoe and tongue tag have Feature branding.

The shoe isn’t particularly bright, but it does have a lot going on in terms of colors and materials. A light colored neutral fit could work, but today I decided to go with a burgundy pullover hoodie from American Apparel layered over a long grey tee and some light jeans. I think the lighter denim helps the shoe to pop while the hoodie brings out the deeper reds on the shoe.

How Are The Materials?

There are a lot of different things going on with the materials here. I’m not going to say the suede is the butteriest I’ve ever felt, but it is thick and has that lush factor. The pink and beige parts of the shoe (including the ankle liner) and the yellow bit on the toebox are a nice quality leather. Finally, the darker grey and light brown parts towards the back are a nubuck/microfiber/suede type of material. Feature described these as having satin on them, but I’m not really seeing that anywhere on here unless I’m mistaking one of these materials. I’m pretty sure I know what satin feels like though, and I can’t find that anywhere on the shoe. Finally, the 3 dots on the Saucony logo on the side are 3M!

How Do They Fit?

The Feature Saucony Courageous Bacon and Eggs fit at true size and are very comfortable. You have to give it to Saucony on comfort and this particular model has kind of a blocky fit that allows plenty of room for your feet to breathe. The snubnose toebox is a turn off for some, but personally I like how it looks and it can always be reshaped for more of a pointy vibe.
